It all started in Australia a few years ago!
I was selling raffeltickets (please don't ask me what they are, I still don't know) outside a big footy-stadium in Melbourne. I was visiting my cousin and wanted to see a real aussie- footy- game. So this was my ticket in,- to see the game.
So in total awkwardness I tried to sell these stupid tickets. Of course no one was interested in buying any from me. Especially since I hardly knew myself what they were, why would other people buy them?
One man finally stopped to hear me out. After I presented these damn tickets he wasn’t even interested in them anymore. However, in another thing, and he asked me;
“Where is you accent from?”
I loved the fact that he didn’t instantly guess that I was swedish, because the “swedish accent” is probably the worst ever. So I didn’t want to tell him that my accent was swedish. I’d like to think that my english is a big mixture, with many accents, so I answered him “ It’s my own” ... I'm from Sweden, but the accent is my own!
In general, I would say many swedes adapt to accents fast. We hear english all around us. It's not our mother tongue, so we're not brought up with a particular accent. We hear so many different accents daily.
As I told my friends this story, most of them laughed at me; “Of course he heard that you were Swedish! You can't say that!” But I’ll stick with what I think! Cause I think my answer was great, haha! It is my own accent, just because I’m from a certain country doesn't mean I talk the same as every other person in that country?!
I decided to call my blog “it’s my own” cause that's what my blog is gonna be, my own, like no one elses. It’s my own, cause i’m my own...I think we all are!
Keep an extra eye out for my pictures. They are one of my greatest passions!
My intrest for photography grew while travelling in Australia. I didn’t notice it until I got home and realized I'd been taking thousands of photographs. And many of them turned out to be appreciated.
I hope you will enyoj and share my experiences through my photos. And don’t forget to let me know what you think!
