I went jumping on the trampoline with my cousins 8 year old daugther. Me, her, my camera and our imagination and fantasy! We got some great pictures and also some great laughs. Happyness, I'm telling you! We were both freaking tired that night and fell asleep wathching "Mio min mio", eating chips and popcorn. It was fun to be 8 years old all over again.
Today I created a story with some 5-6year old children at my work, it was about a city - "The city of love". This city had a beach, but if you go there you have to kiss. The beach was shaped as a heart. And in this city we only hug and kiss and are nice and caring for eachother.
All I did to get this story started was to create a heart in the sand. I was there all the time to listen and fantasize(?) about what this city was all about. It's so intresting to hear kids and their thoughts. I had three of the oldest boys with me in this. And they were so impressed over the heart I made in the sand. They all loved to create a city where there's only love. At some points they ran off and were disgused. "Yaack, i dont wanna kiss". But they were the ones making the story. And just one minute after running off they were right back on track, talking about love again.
All I had to to was make an effort, a heart in the sand. And give them an opportunity to be children. I'm gonna make an effort to get you to play too...
